- Bøy hodet forsiktig bakover og løft haken frem.
Barn under 1 år:

- Help the pat. to sit up / find a comfortable position.
- Monitor breathing.
If the pat. can't sit up:
- Help the pat. to lie down on his/her side.
- Gently tilt the head back and lift the chin forwards.
Infant under 1 year:
- Keep the head in a neutral position and lift the chin forwards.
- Monitor breathing, tell me if there is any change.

- Fjern brodden.
- Avkjøl stikkstedet med kaldt vann, en våt klut eller is.
- Remove the sting.
- Cool down the affected area with cold water, a damp cloth or with an ice-pack.

- Stans blødning – trykk hardt mot såret med et rent tøystykke i minst 5 min. eller til blødningen stopper.
- Rens såret grundig med rent vann eller desinfeksjonsmiddel.
- Alle bittskader bør tilses av lege hvis bittet har gått gjennom huden.
Menneskebitt skal håndteres på samme måte som stikkuhell med sprøyte.
- Stop the bleeding – apply direct pressure on the wound with a clean cloth for at least 5 mins. or until the bleeding stops.
- Cleanse the bite area thoroughly with clean water or disinfectant.
- All casualties with a bite that has punctured the skin should seek medical advice.
Human bites should be handled in the same way as needle-stick injuries.
